Taste that pink venom, Blinks.

BLACKPINK has “brought the pain” with the release of their much-awaited banger Pink Venom, a track included in their upcoming second full-length album Born Pink. The track and music video were released on Friday, August 19.

The single, produced by K-pop hitmaker Teddy, is BLACKPINK’s first single in two years after The Album in October 2020.

Provoke us if you’d like, you can’t handle it and you know this. / Already spread, shot that potion, pink ocean right before your eyes. / Come and give me all the smoke, all or nothing, like I’m so rock and roll / Come and give me all the smoke, line ‘em up, stop drop,” Rosé and Jisoo sang in the song’s bridge.

Jisoo described Pink Venom as a “hip-hop song with a traditional gayageum instrumental and an addictive chorus” in an exclusive interview with Yonhap News. To recall, the gayageum is a traditional Korean instrument played by the singer-actress in the first few minutes of the music video.

Meanwhile, Jennie said the song shows off a “lovely poison” which describes BLACKPINK down to a tee.

“I wanted to make a conceptual album [with Born Pink]. I think this song might be a song that contains BLACKPINK itself,” Jennie added.

And BLACKPINK surely delivered. While details of Born Pink are still kept under wraps, Pink Venom is a glimpse of the girl group maturing into confident women who are more sure of themselves as individuals. The lavish music video also showed Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa in their respective high-budget sets before coming together as one.

Jennie revealed that Born Pink “expresses the essence of BLACKPINK.” “There is always a notion that we should not move away from ourselves while trying new concepts. But, in order to express us in the clearest and clearest way, Born Pink is born.”

“We tried new things by showing our emotions as they are. After listening to this [Pink Venom], the second regular album will be a little easier to hear,” Lisa said.

Records aside, Jisoo said while having a “grand and special goal” matters, she hopes that Blinks would enjoy their music. “I hope that Blinks will enjoy our music happily as much as they have been waiting for it.”

BLACKPINK is composed of four members, namely, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. The girl group debuted in August 2016 with the songs Whistle and Boombayah.
