Fangirl guide: What’s next for the crushable leads of ‘All of Us Are Dead?’
There’s something that the stars of All of Us Are Dead have in common—they’re all boyfriend and girlfriend material.
All of Us Are Dead is probably the internet’s favorite K-drama, as it remains one of Netflix’s most popular non-English series to date. The thriller has been receiving praises for its fresh take on the zombie genre, gruesome visuals, heartbreaking plot, and of course, the talented and simp-worthy actors.
Many fans agree that its leads are probably the newest stars to watch out for—and well deservingly so. If you’re planning to follow the next step of their careers, here’s a fangirl guide to help you out.
Yoon Chanyoung (Lee Cheongsan)
Birthday: April 25, 2001
Fun fact: While filming All of Us Are Dead, Chanyoung decorated his phone with stickers containing “Nam Onjo” to prepare for the character of Cheongsan.
Chanyoung is not a new face in K-drama land. He previously starred as the younger versions of actors like Seo Kangjoon in Hwajung, Yoo Yeonseok in Dr. Romantic, and Hong Jonghyun in The King in Love, among others.
One of Chanyoung’s recent roles, however, is the 2019 coming-of-age film The Fault is Not Yours starring All of Us Are Dead costars Son Sangyeon and Kim Jinyoung, and former IZ*ONE member Kim Minju.
Sadly, he doesn’t have any upcoming projects yet, as of this writing. But we’re sure that we’ll see him take on bigger roles after the series’ success.
Park Jihu (Nam Onjo)
Birthday: November 7, 2003
Fun fact: Jihu recently graduated from high school and is set to attend Hanyang University this fall. And guess what? Chanyoung is one of her schoolmates. Aww!
Jihu revealed in an exclusive interview with the South China Morning Post that Onjo resembles her in real life. “My personality is similar to On-jo’s. We’re both easy-going and sometimes clumsy. I would’ve also taken care of friends and survived together without letting anyone sacrifice themselves, and try to confront the zombies.”
Jihu made a name for herself after top-billing the critically-acclaimed indie film House of Hummingbird when she was only 15 years old. She portrayed a teenager who’s struggling with her identity in the tumultuous ‘90s.
Following her newfound fame, it looks she’s booked and busy since she’s cast as one of the leads in Little Women starring Yumi’s Cells’ Kim Goeun and Squid Game’s Wi Hajun.
Park Solomon (Lee Soohyuk)
Birthday: November 11, 1999
Fun fact: Solomon is Korean-Uzbek, and he lived in Uzbekistan during his childhood.
With his good looks and slick dancing skills, Solomon admitted in an interview with Star1 that he wanted to be a K-pop idol but was suggested to try acting instead. He developed a passion for acting when he discovered that it’s “fun and attractive.”
Solomon made his acting debut in 2014, starring as the younger versions of K-drama leads. He also appeared in the Chinese drama Lookism where he learned Mandarin for the role.
If you noticed why Solomon is not present in some All of Us Are Dead promos, he’s currently filming for his upcoming series Third Person Revenge alongside Shin Yeeun.
Cho Yihyun (Choi Namra)
Birthday: December 8, 1999
Fun fact: Yihyun previously signed an exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment before transferring to Artist Company in 2019.
Yihyun caught the attention of the internet with her portrayal of the halfbie class president Namra. Prior to All of Us Are Dead, she gained international recognition when she starred as medical resident Jang Yoonbok in Hospital Playlist and aspiring carpenter Jin Jiwon in School 2021.
A K-drama icon in the making, Yihyun admitted that she wanted to learn from her Artist Company seniors in a recent interview with Star Daily. The 22-year-old actress is currently labelmates with Squid Game’s Lee Jungjae and Parasite’s Park Sodam, among others.
Unfortunately, Yihyun doesn’t have any upcoming projects, as of this writing.
Lee Yoomi (Lee Nayeon)
Birthday: July 18, 1994
Fun fact: Yoomi used to work as a delivery rider to make ends meet.
With Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead being two of Netflix’s most popular non-English series, there’s no way for Yoomi to go but up.
Yoomi boasts an impressive filmography such as appearing in K-dramas Touch Your Heart, Welcome to Waikiki, Voice 2, and Diary of a Night Watchman. The 27-year-old actress even bagged three Best New Actress awards in the Buil Film Awards, Korean Film Writers Association Awards, and the Cine21 Awards in 2021.
With Yoomi rising in prominence, she is set to be one of the leads in the sports drama Mental Coach Je Galgil and the film Rain Angel.
Yoo Insoo (Yoon Gwinam)
Birthday: March 25, 1998
Fun fact: Insoo visited Cebu, Philippines in December 2019.
Perhaps, a testament to Insoo’s acting abilities is his enraging portrayal of Gwinam a.k.a. the halfbie who can’t seem to die.
Before starring as a halfbie with nine lives, Insoo appeared in a handful of student roles including the lovesick Yoo Pilsang in At Eighteen and intimidating Oh Cheonkook in At a Distance, Spring is Green.
It looks like All of Us Are Dead is the start of Insoo’s rise as an actor with Fly High Butterfly and Return being added to his filmography.
