Bianca Umali is Danaya's daughter in 'Sang'gre: Encantadia Chronicles'
Kapuso star Bianca Umali confirmed she will play Danaya's daughter in the upcoming Encantadia spin-off titled, Sang'gre.
The 23-year-old actress was introduced as Terra, the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Lupa during an interview on 24 Oras, on Monday, October 23.
"Maraming salamat, no other words. Paulit-ulit kong sinasabi na I am very thankful of course to my supporters." she emotionally said and added that she didn't wish for this but it came unexpectedly.
"Hindi ko hiniling pero pinagkaloob pa rin sakin. I assure that they will not be disappointed, I will not fail anyone." she added.
Bianca also noted her preparations for the character, saying it's like she's preparing for a Marvel movie.
"Ganoon ko po siya pinaghahandan," she said.
"I am preparing my physique for it, I'm preparing my skills for it, and I have been studying everything about Encantadia," she continued and said that this is the "biggest pressure" the actress felt in her entire career.
"Kaya nung nalaman ko rin na Brilyante ng lupa yung mapupunta sakin, I think its in the stars I would like to believe in," Bianca added.
Director Mark Reyes first teased Bianca as part of the Sang'gre cast when he unveiled the series concept art at the San Diego Comic-Con in July.
During that time, Bianca commented on the post with a leaf emoji, seemingly confirming her role in the upcoming series.
Prior to that, the GMA actress also shared a glimpse of her training where she posted a video of her training with arnis sticks, the same weapon that Sang'gre Danaya, played by Diana Zubiri in 2005 and Sanya Lopez in 2016, used in the original series and the remake, respectively.
In June, the director confirmed on Instagram that the series is now in development. He also said that the original four Sang'gres such as Amihan, Pirena, Alena, and Danaya will still be a part of the series.
According to some reports, the story will be about a young woman, who happens to be the long-lost daughter of Sang’gre Danaya, as she starts discovering her own superpowers.
