Rapper charged for masturbating during flight after he 'didn't get much' in his Japan trip

A rapper based in the United States is now facing an indecent exposure charge after masturbating on a flight and pointing out he "didn't get much" in Tokyo, Japan.

According to South China Morning Post, Desiigner (real name: Sidney Royel Selby III) was caught masturbating three times during the flight and had to be moved to the back of the plane, where two people watched him closely. He told the security guard that he "messed up" and apologized to the cabin crew after the flight.

When he was detained, Selby explained to the FBI that she found one of the staff beautiful and since he "didn't get much" during his Japan trip, he wasn't able to control himself during the flight.

The corresponding penalty for this is no more than 90 days of imprisonment and a $500 (P27,700) fine. This misdemeanor filed against the rapper came a few days after posting how he felt "ashamed."

"I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane," Desiigner posted.

In his statement, he attributed his "actions" to his mental health struggles.

"For the past few months I have not been okay, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on," Desiigner wrote.

He explained that while overseas for his concert, he was "not thinking clearly" to the point where he had to be admitted to a hospital. After being given meds, he took a flight home to the US.

"I landed back in the States, and am admitting myself in a facility to help me," Desiigner continued. He then announced that he was canceling all of his performances and commitments indefinitely.
