Mimiyuuuh explains side after receiving criticisms on dating advice: 'Ang akin lang, complete yourself first'
Internet sensation Mimiyuuuh took to Twitter to clarify the dating advice she gave in a magazine interview after receiving flak from netizens online.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines uploaded last June 29, Mimiyuuuh shared her “lesson learned” about financial matters. She said that one should “never ever date someone na walang pera.” She added that before dating, one should ensure their financial stability first.
Mimiyuuuh’s advice received mixed reactions from netizens, sparking an online debate. Some agreed on the practicality of the advice, while others found it demeaning.
“Walang pera, hindi naman po ibig sabihin na mag-date kayo ng mga milyonaryo, bilyonaryo… Hindi po ganun,” Mimiyuuuh explained in her new video.
She said that she was simply advising people to date someone who has a "drive" or ambition.
“Magdate kayo ng someone na kayang dalhin yung sarili. Yung hindi mangungutang at aasa sa inyo,” he added.
The YouTuber also expressed her sadness at the negative comments she received.

“Nalungkot po ako sa mga tao na sinasabi po na matapobre po ako, na parang hindi raw po ako galing sa hirap,” she said.
Mimiyuuuh continued by saying that she came from such a background but emphasized that she didn’t date anyone when she had no money.
“Alam ko po kasi yung priority ko during that time. Priority ko pong ayusin ang buhay ko. Priority ko pong gawing buo yung sarili ko bago po ako magdagdag ng ibang tao sa buhay ko,” he shared, clarifiying that he did not want to be a burden to others.
Mimiyuuuh clarified that people are free to date anyone they like, but stood her ground on her advice.
“Kung ikaw na po mismo, hindi mo kayang masustentuhan yung sarili mo, magdadagdag ka pa ba ng another responsibility?” he stated.
The vlogger expounded on her advice saying, “Ang akin lang, complete yourself first. Make yourself whole. Tapos maghanap ka rin ng someone na whole kasi yun ang deserve mo.”
She also said that it is important to know your worth and not lower your standards, even standards for oneself.
Mimiyuuuh ended the video by joking that “at the end of the day po, buhay mo naman yan eh.”
Mimiyuuuh is one of the well-known Filipino vloggers with almost 4.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
She gained fame in 2019 for starting the “Dalagang Pilipina” video trend.
