Rob Gomez says family is 'not an option to lose' amid relationship status, abuse controversies

Rob Gomez has opened up about his affection for his partner, Miss Multinational Philippines 2021 Shaila Rebortera, and their daughter, Amelia, amid the controversies the actor has been embroiled in concerning his family.

The Kapuso star revealed wanting to see Shaila and Amelia again and restore their broken relationship in an Instagram post on Aug. 27. This is also the first time that Rob shared pictures of his wife and daughter since he started posting on the social media platform back in 2018.

Rob captioned his post, "I now understand why distance is the hardest thing to give family."

"This is my why, my princess, my queen, my sunshine and my world. My choice every day, in this lifetime and the next. You are not an option for me to lose. I can't wait to have you both back in my arms," he continued.

The 26-year-old actor went on to express his regrets over the latest controversy he was caught in, wherein he said on national TV that he is currently single.

It can be recalled that in the Aug. 3 episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Rob told Boy that he is currently single, but has a special someone. Shaila, meanwhile, rebuked her partner's claims by posting photos of their family on social media a day after the interview was aired.

"I’m sorry I said yes to being single when I’m not," the actor wrote on his post. "I promise to keep my promises to you this time. I love you and Amelia more than anything in the world!"

The actor's move also comes weeks after the beauty queen surprised the local pageant world with her revelation that she is a victim of abuse.

In an Instagram Story posted days after revealing she has a daughter with Rob, Shaila shared a collage of a woman's arms and legs that were heavily bruised. She did not identify who the woman in the photos was but tagged Rob in the post.

Rob, on the other hand, has remained quiet about the issue.
