Demi Lovato announces engagement to Jordan Lutes: 'I'm still speechless'
Demi Lovato is set to marry the love of her life!
The singer on Monday announced her engagement to songwriter Jordan "Jutes" Lutes, saying she had the "best night of my life" that evening.
"I’m still speechless," Demi wrote. "Last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic."
Demi added she is "excited" to marry the 32-year-old songwriter and that she "can't wait to love and cherish you forever."
"My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you.. every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby," she said.
Jutes also posted about the proposal on his Instagram account, saying he "can't imagine" his life without his best friend.
"Yesterday [I] asked my best friend to marry me and she said yes. [I] can’t imagine my life without you and thank [G]od now [I]’ll never have to. [F]eeling like the luckiest man alive right now. [I]’m so in love with you @ddlovato," Jutes wrote in the caption.
A source close to the couple told People and Page Six that Jutes gave Demi a "bespoke pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring" from Material Good during their "personal and intimate proposal."
Demi was previously engaged to actor Max Ehrich, whose intentions, according to sources, "weren't genuine."
"I think I rushed into something that I thought was what I was supposed to do. I realized as time went on that I didn’t actually know the person that I was engaged to. We were only together four or five months. And honestly, it was false advertising. The hardest part of the breakup was mourning the person that I thought he was," Demi said in an episode of her YouTube documentary, Dancing with the Devil.
Demi and Jutes met while co-writing SUBSTANCE together. They have been romantically linked since August 2022, almost two years after her first engagement.
The couple made their first red carpet appearance at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy gala at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, in February.
A month later, Demi gushed about spending many more birthdays with her love declaring she'd "waited my whole life" to find him.
"You’re a literal dream come true and I’m so grateful to call you mine,” she wrote in her birthday greeting.
