BLACKPINK's Jennie denies dating rumors with GOT7's BamBam

Jennie's agency, OA Entertainment, dispelled dating rumors with GOT7 member BamBam, saying that the two have been friends for a while and have met up just for a meal.

Dating speculation arose when paparazzi photos surfaced online showing the two K-pop idols dining together at a renowned Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles on Sept. 17.

"The two, who have been friends for a while, [they] met up for a meal in the United States," OA said, as per Korean entertainment site Soompi.

Meanwhile, OA also addressed the misunderstanding about Jennie's fandom name, stating the K-pop idol uses the term "Rubies" to address her fans in a news update.

"This was not an official announcement of her fandom name," the agency said.

This came after the BLACKPINK member released a short voice message on her agency's official website on Sept. 19, in which she affectionately referred to her fans as "Rubies."

"Hi, Rubies! It's Jennie. Stay tuned, and see you soon. Love you. Bye!" she said in the voice message.

The BLACKPINK member will star in episodes 13 and 14 of JTBC's My Name is Gabriel, which are scheduled to air on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, respectively. In the show, she plays Maria, a "1996-born peer" who owns an Italian farmhouse bed and breakfast in a village near Rome, Italy.

She is also gearing up for a solo comeback this October after signing a solo deal with Columbia Records earlier this month.

On the other hand, Thai rapper and singer BamBam released his third mini album, BAMESIS, last August, with Last Parade and Thank You Come Again serving as the album's double title tracks.
