Maggie Wilson offers advice amid celebrity breakups: 'Always put [the children] first'
2023 had been a year of breakups for many celebrities. Some ended their relationships amicably, while others experienced a highly publicized and dramatic separation.
A person who is no stranger to the latter has spoken up about the recent breakups that dominated headlines. In an Instagram Story, Maggie Wilson reminded couples that while they are none of her business, if kids are involved, always "put them first."
"I've been seeing a lot of breakups recently, none of which are any of my business but I do have one thing to say," she began. "Learn from my situation, no matter what happened or happens between the adults, if there are children involved, think of them and always put them first."
"To the adults who have made their child/children's welfare their top priority. I salute you whatever the circumstance of the separation."
"No child should ever be used as a pawn," she ended.
Maggie announced her separation from businessman Victor Consunji in 2021 after 11 years of marriage. The two have since aired their dirty laundry on social media, including filing cases and warrants of arrest.
Since the couple's separation, Maggie hasn't seen their son Connor as he has been staying with his father.
In an Instagram post on Nov. 13, she shared photos of Connor in different locations, including what appeared to be beach settings.
"I have missed many milestones, but I have faith that we will see each other again one day, and I will capture your likeness once more. It might annoy you because I will take even more stills and videos of you than ever. Lately, I am grateful that somehow I get to see snippets of how much you’ve grown. We will see each other again, Connor. You are forever in my thoughts. I love you with all of my heart," she wrote in the caption.
