Pokwang files petition for deportation against her ex-partner Lee O’Brian

Pokwang filed a petition for deportation against her former partner Lee O’Brian at the Bureau of Immigration.

According to a tweet by entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, the actress—with real name Marietta Subong—personally filed the petition on Tuesday, June 13 along with her legal counsel Atty. Ralph Calinisan.

In an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Marfori shared on TikTok, Pokwang briefly talked about her decision to file a case against Lee. "Kailangan nating mabigyan ng leksyon 'yung mga taong nag-aabuso sa batas natin, sa karapatan ng bawat babae, ng bawat nanay."

When asked how she was abused during their relationship, the actress said: "Mentally, sobrang sobra. Ilang gabi nang hindi nakakatulog, alam mo 'yun? Hindi niya nagagawa 'yung obligasyon niya bilang ama. Sobrang masakit."

Marfori said in an Instagram post that Pokwang's camp "claims that O'Brian was using a tourist visa while working in the country for the past eight years."

In March, Pokwang shared in an Instagram post that she met with Calinisan to discuss issues involving Lee, without getting into much detail. “Thank you Atty. Ralph Calinisan," she wrote in the caption, adding the hashtag #tuloylanglabanparasakinabukasan. "Hindi ako susuko para sayo anak @malia_obrian kung naitaguyod ko si ate ng mag-isa mas lalo ako magsisipag at magiging matapang para sayo at sa inyo ng ate mo."

Pokwang separated from Lee in November 2021. They share a child named Malia. 

While she initially said they were on good terms, the local star later revealed in a February interview with Boy Abunda that a business problem led to their fallout and that they were no longer speaking to each other even before their confrontation.

She, however, was hopeful that Lee would fix their relationship for the sake of their kid.

“Bilang isang ina, umaasa ako na maaayos pa kami. Kahit ang sakit-sakit na sa akin. Kailangan kong magsinungaling kasi umaasa ako na aayusin pa niya, magkakaayos pa kami,” she said at the time.

“Oo, naghiwalay kami, pero marami akong binigay na chance. Marami akong signal na binigay sa kanya na 'Please, ayusin mo naman ito para kay Malia,'” recalled Pokwang. “Parang nawala na 'yung respeto. Bago pa mangyari 'yung confrotation sa negosyo, hindi na kami nag-uusap. We don't exist to each other. Nagsasalubong kami sa hagdan, parang wala—parang nabalewala 'yung mga sinacrifice ko.”
