Former child actor Jiro Manio sold his best actor trophy to social media personality Boss Toyo for P75,000.

In a vlog by the content creator, whose real name is Jayson Luzadas, on Tuesday, Jiro visited Pinoy Pawnstars to sell his prestigious award from Gawad Urian, which he won for his acclaimed performance in the movie Magnifico in 2004. He said he wanted his trophy to be part of the museum Jayson is planning to build.

Jayson assured Jiro that while he is no longer in the showbiz industry, his respect for him remains strong.

While he began by hoping for P500,000, negotiation with Jayson landed him a much smaller sum for the trophy. They eventually agreed to settle for P75,000.

Aside from the Gawad Urian, Jiro was also named best child actor by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) and best actor by Luna Awards for his Magnifico performance.

Jiro was discovered when he was six years old and appeared on television shows and commercials. He is best known for his roles in films such as Anghel sa Lupa, Ang Tanging Ina, La Vida Rosa, and Manay Po, among others.

He left the showbiz industry sometime in 2011 due to drug addiction.

In 2020, he was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man but was released after paying bail.

In 2023, Jiro told Julius Babao in an interview that he was not keen on returning to showbiz.

Jiro now has been spending his time nowadays at the DOH Treatment and Rehabilitation Facility in Bataan as a co-facilitator.
