Kim Kardashian on saving Kanye West's stuff: 'This is me holding on to the Kanye I know'
Kim Kardashian is moving on, but is not ready to let go of some of Kanye West's things.
In an episode of The Kardashians, the reality star and entrepreneur opened up about her divorce and the difficult process of letting go of the past, while sorting through a storage warehouse filled with items they had accumulated over the years.
“I definitely need to clean it out because I am such a memory hoarder: the good, the bad, the disgusting. I am going to hold on to everything,” she revealed.
The producer reminded Kim that the divorce was officially finalized, and she revealed that she had finally found peace with the situation. She said, "There’s so many amazing things that came out of my marriage and my divorce. I've kept every single Yeezy. For me, I think this is me holding on to the Kanye I know."
Despite the challenges and hardships she faced throughout the divorce, the SKIMS founder expressed that she wouldn't change any of it. "I would never take back any of the hard things that have happened or any of the hard times," Kim shared.
While going through Kanye's Yeezy collections and sample outfits for his Sunday Service group, Kim referred to the storage unit as a "time capsule of like the best times" in their marriage.
However, she acknowledged the reality of life is different now and that there was no going back to how things used to be.
"My kids will have the best memories, and this will be the best tribute for them," she said, explaining that she didn't want to deprive her children of their father's memories and influence despite the divorce.
Kim also revealed that Kanye had asked her to "burn his stuff," but she chose to keep the memories tucked away for her kids to enjoy when they grow up.
Although there were many cherished memories in the storage unit, Kim admitted that she was in a "purging phase," trying to embrace the idea of letting go of the past to make room for new memories.
Previously, Kim addressed Kanye's controversial claims and antisemitic rants online. She expressed her hope of seeing the person she once knew in him again, acknowledging the difficulty of dealing with a changed version of her former partner.
The former couple dated since 2011 and welcomed four children together: North, 10, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4. They divorced in March 2022 after six years of marriage.
