Sarah Lahbati says she's going to make sure she'll have a good Christmas with her sons
Sarah Lahbati said she'll make it a point that she and her children will have a good Christmas this year amid breakup rumors with Richard Gutierrez.
In an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Marfori last weekend for her upcoming show Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa, the local star decided to stay silent about the speculations surrounding her marriage with the actor. "I'd rather not comment on anything personal if that’s what you’re asking dahil Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa, malapit na," she said.
Sarah expressed her excitement over being part of the TV adaption of the classic Pinoy film that came out in 1986.
"I’m okay and I’m excited. Honestly, I’m feeling grateful and I’m feeling blessed," she said. "Again, parang sunod-sunod 'yung blessings from God and I’m just excited to get to work."
"I have a 5-year-old, we have a 10-year old so parang sabi ko, puwede na siguro, " she continued, referring to Kai and Zion, her children with Richard.
"I’ve been a very hands-on mom. I’m still a very hands-on mom so parang I wanted to do something for myself," she added.
Sarah also stressed the importance of practicing self-love. "If you want to be able to take care of your kids the best way you can, you have to take care of yourself the best way you can also."
"Even if I’m working, I’m still gonna be very hands-on with the kids and make sure we have good Christmas," she said.
This comes a few days after her mother-in-law Annabelle Rama revealed that Richard has been staying with her for a month now amid the speculations about Richard and Sarah's marriage.
While she shared that she hasn't found the time to talk to Sarah, Annabelle addressed blind items seemingly pertaining to her daughter-in-law, saying that Richard has been busy working, while the former has only been busy "wasting money."
"Nakikita mo naman, hindi mo na kailangang magsalita pa. Nakikita mo na 'yan. Si Richard trabaho nang trabaho, 'yung isa nagwawaldas ng pera. 'Yun lang ang masasabi ko diyan," she said.
Annabelle, in a social media post, denied her involvement in their relationship problems, saying she's just as shocked and confused about how everything happened so fast.
"Nagulat na lang ako, biglang dumating ang nanay at tatay galing ibang bansa. Doon na nag-umpisa ang malaking gulo. 'Wag niyo ibagsak sa akin ang sisi," she stressed. "Kung hindi ako pinagbawalan ng lawyer na magsalita, mag-enjoy sana ang buong mundo sa sasabihin kung kwento. Gigil na gigil na akong isiwalat ang katotohanan sa pangyayari pero wala akong magawa. Abangan ang susunod na kabanata."
She also emphasized that she wouldn't want her son's marriage to end, after all. "Basta ako, ayaw ko silang maghiwalay dahil mahal ko ang mga apo ko."
Richard and Sarah tied the knot in 2020 after dating for eight years. Their children are living with Richard at the moment.
Rumors of their separation started when eagle-eyed social media users noticed that they haven't been sharing photos of them online and have been spending time with their kids separately. They were last spotted together at Maja and Rambo Nuñez's wedding in Bali, Indonesia.
