BTS' V to star in new restaurant reality show with Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik
Something's cooking up, V solo stans! The "secret weapon" of BTS is out to capture (purple) hearts once again as he is set to star in a new reality series alongside Korean actors Park Seo Joon and Choi Woo Shik.
The new variety show, currently dubbed "Seo Jin" (working title), is a spin-off to 2017's Youn's Kitchen, wherein actress Youn Yuh-jung and fellow actors Jung Yu-mi and Park Seo Joon were tasked to run a Korean restaurant in Indonesia. In addition to managing the restaurant, the group had to take on the challenge of whipping up a menu, with new items added to it regularly.
According to a report by Soompi, the upcoming spin-off series will present Youn's Kitchen director Lee Seo Jin being promoted to the boss of the new restaurant named "Seo Jin." Unlike the old Indonesia-based restaurant that features bulgogi and bibimbap, Seo Jin will introduce South Korean street food to Mexico.
Jung and Park are returning as restaurant employees and will be joined by Choi, who starred in another spin-off show titled "Youn's Stay."
Seo Jin will also serve as a mini-reunion for the "Wooga Squad," as V of K-pop supergroup BTS will be uniting with Park and Choi as the group's newest employee.
The show is their latest on-screen appearance as a group, following their four-day "friendship trip" to the Goseong area for In the Soop: Friendcation that premiered on July 22 of last year.
The Hybe-produced 2022 reality show is starred by the whole Wooga Squad consisting of Park, Choi, V, as well as actor-singer Park Hyung-sik and rapper Peakboy.
Created by the popular producer Na Young-seok, Seo Jin is set to air on South Korean TV channel tvN on Feb. 24. While there's no news yet on the show's availability in the Philippines, you can take a look at how V unleashes his charm as a restaurant employee in the trailer below.
