WATCH: BLACKPINK’s history-making Coachella 2023 performance
BLACKPINK made history as the first K-pop group to headline Coachella on Sunday, April 16.
The iconic girl group—consisting of Rosé, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo—opened their set with Pink Venom under their Born Pink album and Kill This Love, followed by other hit songs like How You Like That, Pretty Savage, Kick It, and Whistle.
Each of them made sure to perform solo songs that have made them shine on their own: Jennie with You & Me, Jisoo with her debut single Flower, Rosé with Gone and On The Ground, and Lisa with MONEY.
The quartet then kept the audience hyped with more hit tracks, including BOOMBAYAH and DDU-DU DDU-DU, among others. They concluded their spectacular performance with Forever Young.

This marks the first time they graced the Coachella stage as headliner following their 2019 debut at the California-based music festival as part of the second line of artists.
BLACKPINK’s historic performance was first announced in January this year. “We’re so excited and honored to be able to return to Coachella as headliners. We had the best time in 2019 and can’t wait to experience the energy of the audience again. There are some nerves, but more than anything, we’re just ready to have fun,” Jennie told Billboard in an interview a few days before the hotly anticipated affair.
“I think performing for Coachella in 2019 was a moment that really woke us up as BLACKPINK—to be motivated, to dream on, and dream big. But we never expected anything as big as being the headliner of a festival we’ve all grown up admiring and hoping someday we could find ourselves in the crowd of,” added Rosé.
Coachella 2023 is running on the weekends of April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23. The event is available for streaming on Coachella's YouTube channel. Joining the K-pop stars in its main act lineup are Bad Bunny, who is also the festival's first-ever Latino headliner, and American singer-songwriter Frank Ocean.
