Super Junior's Ryeowook to marry former TAHITI member Ari in May
Ryeowook is set to tie the knot with Ari this year.
The K-pop idol announced his marriage plans via a photo of a handwritten letter posted on his Instagram account on Friday, March 29.
“As you are aware, there is someone I am seeing. Over the time we spent together, I naturally developed a desire to become family with her,” Ryeowook said, as translated by Korean entertainment site Soompi.
“This is not a sudden decision but one I’ve been deliberating for a long time, and after long discussion with the members and agency staff, I decided to have my wedding this spring in late May,” he continued.
Ryeowook then expressed his gratitude to ELFs (fans of Super Junior) for supporting him since his debut in 2005, pointing out how the group and their fans have collectively shared happy and sad moments for the last 20 years.
“I will continue to work hard as Super Junior’s Ryeowook and as singer Ryeowook for all of you who support me performing with the members and want to listen to my singing nevertheless,” he added. The singer also thanked his fellow members and his agency’s staff who “have supported [his] decision and given [him] strength” in this chapter of his life.
Ryeowook first went public about his romance with Ari, a member of the now-disbanded girl group TAHITI, in 2020.
He has been a member of Super Junior, dubbed the “Kings of Hallyu Wave,” since 2005. He is also among the members of the group’s first sub-unit K.R.Y with Kyuhyun and Yesung.
Some of his tracks as a solo artist include It’s Okay, One and Only, and Drunk in the Morning.
