'Life begins at 40': Iza Calzado shares pregnancy news on her birthday
Actress Iza Calzado is celebrating two major milestones today! Not only is she celebrating her 40th birthday today, Aug. 12, but it seems that she's also going to be a first-time mother.
Calzado took to Instagram to share a picture of herself proudly sharing her baby bump. In her caption, she celebrated turning 40, which coincides with her 20th year in the entertainment industry.
"They say life begins at 40. So I had all these big plans for my for 40th year on Earth as it also coincides with my 20th year in the industry. I already completed a few of the exciting projects lined up for me and there were a few dream projects in the pipeline. I was ready to usher in this new chapter in my life," she wrote.
However, the actress revealed the unexpected, but welcome news.
"Then you came along. Unexpectedly. You may not have been in my immediate plans but I instinctively knew that this was THE plan," Calzado said, referring to the bundle of joy in her belly.
She continued by thanking God for the blessing she received and shared how she believes she is being steered into the right direction with this new chapter in her life.
"Something deep inside me knows that you will propel me to greater heights to soar higher than ever before in ways I cannot even begin to imagine. You will give me THE WHY, THE PURPOSE, THE DIRECTION in life, and I embrace you in my life as we build, along with Ben — your dad, a FAMILY!"
"They were right. Life does begin at 40. Simply put, your life begins as your mother turns forty. To know that life is growing inside me is great miracle. You are my miracle. You are my guiding light," she ended.
Calzado formed a family with her non-showbiz partner and entrepreneur Ben Wintle after they got married in 2018 at a gorgeous beach wedding in Coron, Palawan. They first met in 2011 and since then, the two have been sharing to the world their journey as soulmates.
"Thank you for choosing me everyday even when I make it difficult for you to do so. It takes a special and a whole lot of man to be with a woman like me and I am grateful for your strength, understanding, love and patience. You inspire me to be better. I love you, Ben. Thank you for being a great partner in life," Calzado wrote during their third wedding anniversary.
