TV host Karylle has announced the passing of her father, Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari.

The singer-actress penned a tribute for her late dad, who she called "Papa M," on Instagram on Aug. 11.

"It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my dad... He was a beloved man who lived life fully. Always sure everyone felt seen and heard. He, too, was always seen and heard with his handsome 'cute' face, youthful porma, and booming voice," she wrote, posting photos from her father's wake at a church in Greenhills.

Karylle described her dad as a "great guy" who "brightened people's days."

"A Baguio boy (and Laguna lad!) at heart and topnotcher at the dental board, he loved basketball and his no-look shot. He loved picnics and always had a neon pink frisbee and a basketball in the trunk of a lift back."

"His philosophy in life was that if your white rubber shoes (or sneakers) weren't dirty enough, it meant you didn't play or have enough fun," she added.

The TV host also wrote about how her dad was present at her school events. "I was always lucky coz he was my dad."

Aside from being a dentist and the estranged ex-husband of Zsa Zsa Padilla, Modesto was also a boy scout who was supposed to be part of the World Scout Jamboree in 1963. While on the way to Marathon, Greece, the plane crashed in the Arabian Sea killing 24 Filipino boy scouts.

"I am grateful to Lolo Benny and Lola Thelma for not allowing him to go to jamboree despite him already having the funding from San Miguel where lolo worked," she shared.

One of Karylle's latest projects is starring in the Little Shop of Horrors play, which Modesto saw four times.

The actress' friends in the entertainment industry commented their condolences for the family's loss.

"Dearest Baby K, our deepest condolences on the passing of M…Mama will be with you ASAP…Stay strong, anak…You’ve been a source of nothing but pride and joy for both your Papa and Mama all your life…We love you so very much," wrote Sharon Cuneta.

"[Gerald] and I were among his many patients and I remember him for how nice he was. May he rest in peace, and we send you hugs," Lea Salonga wrote.
