Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz celebrate 21 years as a love team

Bea Alonzo marked 21 years as onscreen partners with John Lloyd Cruz as they had a get-together with their nearest and dearest, including actress Dimples Romana, last weekend.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Oct. 23, the actress wrote: "Who would've thought that JL and I would last 21 years as a 'love team'?! Wait, can you still call us that?"

Bea said that while they have been doing their "own thing" outside their love team for a while now, they have "remained part of each other's lives for two decades."

"How amazing is that?" she added.

Bea also expressed her excitement over the upcoming musical adaptation of their 2007 film One More Chance, which follows the story of long-time lovers who encounter some hurdles in their relationship as they pursue their dreams as individuals.

"Last night was a random celebration of friendships that last, and I woke up to the wonderful news that PETA is doing ONE MORE CHANCE the musical next year with the music of Ben&Ben!" she wrote in the caption.

The musical, which will be staged by the Philippine Educational Theater Association, is set to open in April 2024.

Aside from One More Chance, John Lloyd and Bea also starred as a love team in its sequel A Second Chance (2015) as well as The Mistress (2012), among others. They made their much-awaited comeback and brought kilig to fans in 2021 with their commercial for a fast-food chain dubbed One True Pair. They also had a live script reading of That Thing Called Tadhana in 2020.
