Kyla opens up about fourth miscarriage: 'I hope you've felt how much we longed for you'
Only a year has passed since Kyla Alvarez suffered her third pregnancy loss, but the singer now finds herself struggling to overcome grief once more. This time it's for her fourth unborn baby.
On Friday, June 3, Kyla announced on Instagram that she suffered her fourth miscarriage. Her post consisted a video of herself dancing and caressing her belly and a caption that reminisced her latest pregnancy journey with her husband, PBA player Rich Alvarez.
The singer, who is popularly known only by her first name, recalled how the journey was "all pure joy" until the baby bid them an untimely farewell.
"But losing you.. again..for the fourth time is unimaginable. I can’t even put my feelings into words," Kyla wrote.
"I find it so hard to share my loss because we didn’t tell anyone about our pregnancy. We wanted to share our excitement with our family but later on, ended up sharing our grief," she continued. "I am screaming and crying in my head and I couldn’t tell anyone."
Amid the deep pain, Kyla said she is fighting hard to be optimistic and "look for just anything" that'll help her cope with it.
"I know things will be ok in the end," she said. "I have to constantly remind myself that God has already placed people in my life to love- people that I need in life. He has blessed me with the best ones to love and love me back. Everything else is just bonus."
The singer concluded her post with a message to her unborn child: "And to you, my little one.. I pray for you. I hope you’ve felt how much we longed for you, prayed for you, and how much we love you."
Kyla gave birth to her first child, Toby, in May 2013. Five years later, in 2018, the singer suffered two miscarriages. It was followed by another one in June last year.
She and her husband Rich tied the knot in a civil ceremony in April 2011 and a church wedding in November that year. The couple dated for seven years before they got married.
