Britney Spears speaks out about her divorce from Sam Asghari: 'I'm a little shocked'
Britney Spears has confirmed that she and Sam Asgahri are no longer together.
In her Instagram, Britney posted a video of herself dancing to music. However, serious talk about her breakup with her husband followed in the caption.
“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together ... 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, l'm a little shocked but ... I'm not here to explain why because it's honestly nobody's business,” Britney wrote on her Aug. 19 post.
"But, I couldn't take the pain anymore honestly," she added.
The pop star said that she has received touching messages from friends, "in some sort of telepathic way" and that she's grateful for them.
"I've been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it's far from reality and I think we all know that !!! I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but [for]some reason, l've always had to hide my weaknesses,” the singer added.
“If I wasn't my dad's strong soldier, I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors !!! But that's when I needed family the most !!! You're supposed to be loved unconditionally ... not under conditions," she said.
The Stronger singer said that she will continue to do her best to get through this.
"So I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! And I'm actually doing pretty damn good !!! Anyways have a good day and don't forget to smile!!!” She continued.
The couple met during the shooting of Britney’s song Slumber Party in 2016. The Iranian-American actor and personal fitness trainer married Britney in June 2022.
Rumors about the fall of their marriage started when they were seen outside without their wedding rings.
Sam surprised everyone when he posted an Instagram Story confirming the end of their relationship. He said that the reason for the divorce is “irreconcilable differences” after a year-long marriage.
“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he said.
“We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.” Sam ended the caption by wishing Britney the best.
