Selena Gomez reveals that she might be coming out with new music this year
Selena Gomez teased that she might be releasing new music this year.
The singer teased that new projects were on the horizon when asked what to expect in her career this year at a recent event for her makeup line Rare Beauty to celebrate her new Liner Collection and Kind Words Matte Lipstick.
Tiktok makeup artist Mikayla Nogueira played a game of rapid-fire question and answer which revealed Gomez’s other plans for this year.
Nogueira asked “The year’s not over yet. Should we expect anything else from Rare Beauty this year?” and SG excitedly teases that there might be several makeup launches and later added, “Maybe some music?”
The Tiktoker then said “No way!” which made Gomez shrug her shoulders in reply.

Before revealing the possibility of new music, the singer also teased on ET at the Only Murders in the Building season 2 premiere in Los Angeles that she’s back in the studio.
Will Marfuggi interviewed Selena with Steve Martin and Martin Short when she shared her intentions for new music.
"I am actually working on it right now," Gomez added "It's just been a little hectic with this, but um I am in the studio. I'm excited."
In the same Tiktok video, which has racked up over 893.1k likes on the platform as of this writing, the star also shared which song of her own was her favorite.
“Oh, Lose You to Love Me, of course,” she quickly answered the Tiktok host.
The pop balled with empowering lyrics about discovering one's true self was part of Gomez's third studio album Rare relased in 2020.
Gomez didn't given an exact date when she plans to release new music this year. When she does, it will be the first new tune from the 29-year-old singer-actress since her Spanish-speaking album, Revelación, which was released in March 2021.
According to Billboard, Gomez has sold over seven million albums and 22 million singles worldwide. The singer and actress has a huge following on social media and is one of the most followed musicians and actresses on Instagram with over 332 million followers.
