Taylor Swift offered to be mayor of Tampa, Florida for a day ahead of 'Eras Tour' stop
Looks like Tampa, Florida is filled with Swifties!
Mayor Jane Castor invited Taylor Swift to be its honorary mayor prior to the singer's concert in the city as part of her Eras Tour.
“Hey Taylor, this is Mayor Jane Castor. We are so excited to welcome you to Tampa," she began in a video recently shared on Tampa's official Twitter page.
“Let me tell you, our weather never goes out of style,” Mayor Castor quipped in reference to Swift’s song Style. “Your fans have spoken and they want to know what we are doing to welcome you to our beautiful city.”
The city official went on to enumerate different welcoming stunts from different cities, with Glendale changing its name to “Swift City,” Arlington renaming a street after her, and Vegas flaunting their Gateway Arches with Swift’s different colors of eras.
Leveling up their game, Mayor Castor presented the key to their city, inviting Swift to become their mayor for a day.
In addition to presenting @taylorswift13 with a key to the City and inviting her to be Tampa’s mayor for a day, the City of Tampa will be lighting Old City Hall, the @tampariverwalk, and downtown bridges red in honor of the Era’s Tour. ❤️ #TSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/5slppmN3ql

Aside from these big moves ahead of Taylor's concert in the city, they also changed their Twitter name to “City of Tampa (Taylor’s Version).” They're also set to light up their Old City Hall, the city’s river walk, and downtown bridges red in “honor of the Eras Tour.”
The Grammy winner kicked off her Eras Tour in March in Glendale, Arizona, featuring tracks to represent her 10-album discography from the self-titled Taylor Swift to the most recent Midnights. It’s set to stop by Tampa, Florida this week.
