LOOK: Karylle reunites with 'Encantadia' Sang'gres on 'It's Showtime'

Gabbi Garcia and Karylle, who played the iconic Sang'gre Alena in Encantadia in 2016 and 2005, respectively, shared snaps together during the debut of the noontime variety show It's Showtime on GMA on Saturday, Apr. 6.

On her Instagram, Gabbi uploaded a series of photos with Karylle, including one of them doing their iconic "Brilyante pose."

"Alena's. missed you, ate @anakarylle!" she captioned her post.

In the comments section, Karylle talked about her candid moments with Gabbi, thanking the latter for "being so chill" as they shared a makeup room together.

"I super took a chance and was super kapal mukha to share a room and makeup artist with you @gabbi. Thanks for being so chill and everything [about] the kaguluhan of my morning rehearsals and all! And thanks for coming super early to adjust to me," Karylle wrote.

Gabbi then replied, "[A]lways happy to see you, [Ate K]!!! one of the purest hearts ever! and of course!!! That's super nothing!! thank you also for the dressing room & for all the genuine chika!! I really appreciate it. [T]o moreeee chikas soon!"

Glaiza De Castro, who played the role of the fiery Sang'gre Pirena in the 2016 version of the hit local telepantaserye, also uploaded a photo on social media. It features Karylle and her Encantadia co-stars Gabbi and Sanya Lopez, who played Danaya, the youngest Sang'gre and the beholder of Brilyante ng Lupa.

"Sanggres in multiverse," Glaiza wrote.

Mark Reyes, who directed and produced the well-loved Encantadia series, also commented on the post, "Ivo Live my Lovely Sanggres!"

In November 2023, the original Sang'gres of the 2005 edition of GMA's Encantadia—Karylle, Diana Zubiri, Sunshine Dizon, and Iza Calzadoreunited during the performance of Team KALM on It's Showtime's annual Magpasikat 2023 segment.

Encantadia first premiered in 2005 and starred Sunshine Dizon, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri alongside Iza. After two follow-ups, Etheria and Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas, the series was rebooted in 2016 to star Glaiza de Castro, Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya.

The upcoming spin-off Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre, will star Bianca Umali as Terra, the daughter of Danaya, who has been tasked with safekeeping the Brilyante ng Lupa.

Faith da Silva will play Flamarra, the new keeper of the Brilyante ng Apoy, while Angel Guardian will portray Deia, the guardian of the Brilyante ng Hangin.

A male Sang'gre known as Adamus will appear in the series for the first time. He will be played by Kelvin Miranda and will have the power to manipulate water.

The new show is yet to have a release date.
