Coco Martin and Julia Montes confirm 12-year romance

Coco Martin and Julia Montes have finally confirmed that they have been together for 12 years and counting.

In an interview on ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol on Tuesday, May 23, the celebrity couple opened up about their love that has lasted for over a decade. 

“Napakasarap ng pakiramdam namin dahil ito, 12 years na kaming magkasama, pero pareho pa rin gaya ng dati. Nilo-look forward namin kapag may project kami na magkasama kami, and then kapag may pagkakataon, nakakalabas kami, nakikita kami ng mga tao, pero name-maintain namin ‘yung privacy sa buhay namin,” the actor said.

“Basta kami naman, hindi naman na kami mga bata. Kung ano siguro ‘yung nakikita at iniisip ng mga tao, ‘yun na ‘yun kasi mas masarap ‘yung pakiramdam na pribado ang buhay namin, tahimik, walang mga issue. Ito, masaya kami,” he continued. 

For her part, Julia said she and her partner are completely happy with where they are right now as they continue to put God at the center of their relationship. 

“Kung ano po ‘yung position namin or narating namin ngayon, super blessed lang talaga kami. Never kasi nawala sa center si God so parang lahat ng nangyayaring good stuff, si God talaga din kasi ‘yun eh,” she said. 

In a 2021 interview with ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, Coco revealed that he already expressed his interest in Julia when they crossed paths even before their projects with the network in 2012. 

“Ano pa siya noon, bagets, mga 13, 14. Ako siguro, mga 21 tapos nagtangka ako sa kanya—nagtangkang mambola. Eh na-reject ako. Tapos, after that, nagkita na kami sa Walang Hanggan,” he said. 

The local stars started their romance in 2011 and have since worked in various projects as a love team, including Walang Hanggan (2012), A Moment in Time (2013), Ikaw Lamang (2014), and Wansapanataym: Yamishita’s Treasure (2015).
