Alex Gonzaga shares throwback photo with her sister Toni, recalls dreams of entering showbiz
Alex Gonzaga posted a throwback photo with her sister Toni Gonzaga from their teenage years and reflected their dreams of entering showbiz.
“Looking at our old pictures and reminiscing [about] the time na wala pa social media,” she began in her Instagram post.
“These are your simple [T]aytay girls using their dad’s film camera for selfie thinking they can have a shot in showbusiness,” she added.
In her TikTok post, Alex shared that the picture was taken at their apartment in Taytay, Rizal when she was around 14 years old, while Toni was around 18 or 19 years old.
She furthered that it was also the time when Toni was starting to pursue her career in showbiz by going on auditions.
“Grabe ang fighting spirit at support group namin, ang mommy at daddy namin na talagang gandang ganda at bilib na bilib sa mga anak nila,” she said.
“’Yan kami no’n. Tignan niyo: Wala [akong] kilay. ‘Yung braces ko, halos tatlong buwan na ata ‘kong ‘di bumabalik sa dentista ko niyan. Ang ate ko, [may] mga tigidig sa mukha. Pero talagang nai-push namin,” she recalled.
Recalling how they made their dreams happen over the years, Alex went on to encourage her followers that they can also achieve their dreams, as long as they believe in themselves.
“Ibig sabihin niyan, kayang-kaya niyo rin. Kaya niyong i-push lahat nang pwedeng I-push, basta may tiwala kayo sa sarili n’yo at siyempre, magdasal kayo palagi,” said The Entitled star.
She echoed this in her Instagram post: “You can always glow up and live your dream ano man ang pinagsimulan mo,” she said. “Love you ate, and I am proud how we started as a family.”
Apart from her career as a content creator, Alex is also an actress and host for television shows such as the noontime show Tropang LOL, Single Bells, The Exorsis, and The Entitled, among others.
Toni, meanwhile, was one of the original hosts of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother. She is also known for her roles in classic films such as My Amnesia Girl, My Only You, and Four Sisters Before the Wedding. Currently, she also hosts a “Toni Talks” series on her YouTube channel.
