Sarah Lahbati reveals she's not on speaking terms with Richard Gutierrez
Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez remain mum on their split rumors, but the former admitted that they are currently not on speaking terms.
Sarah made the revelation during her interview with Frontline Pilipinas, confirming that she is currently on a co-parenting set-up with Richard for their sons, Zion and Kai.
“It’s not easy on any child but I’m here for them, and they’re better,” she said.
“Of course, it’s not ideal for the children—let's go back to the kids,” she added. “But that’s life, they’ll be fine.”
She was then asked if she's currently talking with Richard, to which she straight-up answered, “No.”
“We’re good at parenting. We are there for the kids. That’s all I’m gonna say,” the actress said.
She also addressed how she deals with bashers, especially on the issue of her being an “extravagant spender.”
“We have to take things lightly or else puputi buhok natin at hindi tayo magiging happy,” Sarah said.
“Natutuwa ako sa lahat ng tumatawag sa ‘kin ng patron saint of waldas. As in natatawa ako. Every day may comment about it. Sinakyan ko ng konti,” she added.
Despite this, the Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa star boasted that she’s actually good at managing her finances to provide not only for her kids but also to help her parents.
“In reality, I’m very proud to say that I’m good at saving. I’m good at finances,” she said, adding, “I’m working hard to provide for my children, for myself and my parents.”
Split rumors about Sarah and Richard first circulated in late October 2023 after eagle-eyed social media users noticed that the couple hadn't been sharing photos of them online and had been spending time with their kids separately. They were last spotted together at Maja and Rambo Nuñez's wedding in Bali, Indonesia.
In early December, Annabelle revealed that Richard had been staying with her for a month. While she shared that she hasn't found the time to talk to Sarah, Annabelle addressed blind items seemingly about her daughter-in-law, saying that Richard has been busy working, while the former has only been busy "wasting money." Their co-parenting setup, meanwhile, was first revealed by Sarah’s mom, Esther Lahbati in the same month.
In January 2024, the two officially unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Richard and Sarah tied the knot in 2020 after dating for eight years. They have yet to directly address rumors about their marriage.
