Megan Young expecting first child with Mikael Daez: 'A new beginning for us'
Baby Daez is on the way! Megan Young and Mikael Daez have announced they are expecting their first child.
Megan, who has a love for video games, shared the good news through a fun Instagram reel that pays homage to Mario. In the clip, the Miss World 2013 queen could be seen entering the frame designated with the title "Player 1" followed by Mikael who is "Player 2."
The box with a "?" suddenly appears above them, and when they touch it, a picture of their baby's ultrasound manifests in their hand along with a "Player 3" title above them.
The words "Baby Daez 2025" and a "Start" button appear before the clip ends with Mikael giving his wife a sweet kiss on the forehead.
"A new beginning for us. Bonez (Megan) & Fofo (Mikael) & Baby Daez," Megan wrote in the caption.
Mikael later reposted the reel on his Instagram stories with the caption, "Multiplayer enabled."
In the comments section, many of their fans showered them with their heartiest congratulations and wished Megan a safe pregnancy journey.
"Congrats, Megan and Mikael! Healthy pregnancy journey prayers for you," one user wrote.
Another added, "OMG! Nakakaiyak! Inaantay lang 'to ng lahat and now nandyan na. Congrats Bonez and Fofo."
Megan appeared to have overcome her fears of getting pregnant, as she previously opened up about how she was hesitant about welcoming a child as it was a big responsibility.
"Getting pregnant is always a risk. Sabi nila it's a choice and it's a risky thing for the human body. I guess I'm afraid of complications for myself and for the child if I ever do get pregnant. That's my number one fear, getting sick or dying from having a baby," she told Mikael in their podcast.
"Her worries also involve the change her body has to go through during the nine-month process.
"My body change is something that I am scared of because I don't know how my body will react to pregnancy so that's a very unknown kind of thing to me, even though I've had friends and family get pregnant in the last couple of years. I'm just scared of the unknown," Megan said.
Nevertheless, Mikael assured her that he'll be there to support her no matter what, saying, "We're going with the flow, and it's really up to Bonez, because like you said, you are the baby carrier, and I just tell them that I'm just here to support."
The pair tied the knot back in 2020 after being together for a decade.
