Markus Paterson reveals what went wrong in past relationship with Janella Salvador

Markus Paterson openly talked about his past relationship with Janella Salvador as well as what led to their breakup.

In his interview with talent manager Ogie Diaz published on Saturday, Aug. 6, the actor had nothing but good words for his ex, with whom he shares a son named Jude. 

"She was the first one to really actually teach me how to love unconditionally," he mused. "I'm glad that it happened with Janella because we already had that connection, that deep foundation of love and trust for each other."

"Sobrang blessed ako sa kanya. I couldn't ask for a better mother of my child. Sobrang galing niya," he added.

Markus was then asked what went wrong with their romance. To which, he said: "To put it simply, it wasn't perfect."

"Actually, perfect nung nasa UK pa kami pero nung bumalik na kami dito sa Pilipinas, parang kasi COVID nung time na 'yun, diba? Sobrang delikado eh kailangan na naming magwork," he recalled, adding that it was when "a lot of realities set in."

"Ang daming naging problem na it got to a point na we weren't talking anymore. The fights became more frequent until yeah, we just decided not to pursue this anymore because it just wasn't helping and we didn't want to raise Jude in a household na palaging nag-aaway," he said.

"We decided to like take a break and see how we feel and dun na lang naging perfect 'yung set-up eh. We started off as really good friends and that's where we're at again now," he added.

Markus confirmed his split from Janella in September 2022, saying that they ended their romance “almost a year ago” at the time.

In May this year, he described her as the "best relationship" he's ever had as she gave him the “best gift” of his life—their son, who they welcomed in October 2020 in the United Kingdom.
