Listen up, '90s kids: Barbie Almalbis to hold concert in honor of 25th anniversary in the music industry
This is your time to jam, '90s kids! Local rock icon Barbie Almalbis has announced that she is set to hold a concert in celebration of her 25 fruitful years of making music in the industry.
Titled Firewoman: 25 years of Barbie Almalbis, the concert will be presented by GNN Entertainment Productions and has been in the works for a year now.
Barbie, who was formerly the lead singer of the bands Hungry Young Poets and Barbie's Cradle, revealed that her concert will have her reuniting with her past bandmates, where she will be belting out some of her fan-favorite songs such as "Firewoman" and "Just a Smile" in three different sets.
Fans will also be treated to special guest performances from the likes of Sandwich, Sandwich, Gab Alipe from Urbandub, Clara Benin, I Belong to the Zoo, Kai Del Rio, and Bird.
Scheduled on March 11, the concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. at 123 Block in Mandala Park.
Tickets for the show are now available on Ticketmelon, costing P1,500 for regular seats that includes a signed poster and photo card, as well as P2,400 for the VIP section that includes a meet and greet with Barbie as well as a signed poster and photo card. If you merely want to watch, you may opt to purchase an entrance-only ticket that costs P950.
But if you're raring to get a full Barbie Almalbis experience, you can purchase a VIP Bundle that costs P3,900, which has all of the perks of the VIP ticket plus an inclusion of a limited edition Parade Vinyl. There's also a Regular Bundle costing P3,300, which has the same perks except for the VIP section and meet and greet with the artist.
The 45-year-old musician kickstarted her career in the music industry as a solo artist in 2005. She has since received multiple nominations and recognitions for her work, such as being awarded Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist for her song “Just a Smile” at the 2006 Awit Awards.
