Cher on why she dates younger men: 'Men my age or older… they're all dead'

Cher revealed the reason she's choosing to date younger men at the moment.

In an interview with singer Jennifer Hudson on the latter's talk show, the 77-year-old singer began by sharing that she's "kind of shy" when she's "around men."

She then said that she's opting to date younger ones "because men my age or older—well, now, they're all dead—but before, they just never, they were always terrified to approach me."

Jennifer continued what she was trying to say, adding that younger men "are bold."

"Yeah! Raised by women like me!" replied Cher.

The Believe singer also revealed she declined a date with the late Elvis Presley, admitting that she "was nervous" at the time. "I knew of the people around him and it wasn’t that they were bad people, it’s just that I was kind of nervous of his reputation."

Cher is currently dating 38-year-old Alexander "A.E." Edwards, the vice president of a renowned record label managing hit singers like Rihanna and Justin Bieber.

The two met at a Paris Fashion Week event in 2022. She announced their romance later that year, saying she "doesn’t give a f—k what anyone thinks." She noted that she has always been someone who takes chances. “It’s who I am. Love doesn’t know math, it sees.” 

According to Cher, AE treats her "like a queen."

Cher was married to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975 and Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979. 

AE, meanwhile, had a relationship with model and activist Amber Rose for three years. They welcomed a child in 2020 and decided to call it quits a year later.
