Kate Micucci, who is best known for her role as Lucy on Big Bang Theory, is now officially free from lung cancer.

In an Instagram post, the actress announced the news as she thanked her fans and followers as well as her medical team for being with her throughout her battle with the disease.

"Pretty surreal to wake up and find Good Morning America had done a segment about my lung cancer diagnosis. Great news is, thanks to surgery last week, I am cancer free and no other treatment is needed," Micucci wrote in the caption.

"I was very lucky to have such wonderful doctors and nurses who took great care of me. And I was very lucky to find it so early," she continued.

This comes a few days after she revealed her diagnosis and shared that she had lung cancer surgery. At the time, she shared that one thing in her bloodwork came back really high, prompting her to go to a preventative doctor for a few scans. After having her heart checked, the medical experts saw the spot in her lung.

She said she found it “really weird” that she got it, especially since she never smoked a cigarette in her life. “It was a surprise,” she continued.

Aside from Big Bang Theory, Micucci appeared in other shows like How I Met Your Mother, Malcolm in the Middle, and Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

She also lent her voice in animated shows like Rio 2, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, The Lego Batman Movie, Scooby-Doo! installments, and Adventure Time.

Micucci is also a singer, with songs like The Working Dead, You Got a Bike, and Let Me Ska My Van Into Your Heart for the animated series Steven Universe.
