Kourtney Kardashian opens up on son Rocky's lung condition that led to her fetal surgery
Kourtney Kardashian opened up about the health of her seven-month-old son Rocky before his birth last November.
On the June 20 episode of The Kardashians, the reality show star said she underwent emergency fetal surgery after fluid was found in Rocky's lungs.
"We had a terrifying scare," she said. "It's super rare—the condition that he had—but it's also super rare and lucky that we caught it."
"Thank you, God, for a successful surgery. I'm honestly just so grateful, I have no words," she added.
Rocky's symptoms, however, returned after the surgery, making her "filled with fear."
Kourtney said she watched a documentary titled Heal, which she noted was about "the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health." This made her change her outlook on life.
"I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers," she said, adding that with her "mindset shift," the fluid in Rocky's lungs was gone and they didn't have "one single problem after."
Kourtney's husband, drummer Travis Barker, expressed his worry on Rocky's birth and said he didn't want their son to come out early. "I want to make sure his lungs are perfect—everything's perfect," Travis said on the show.
When Rocky was finally born, Kourtney said he's everything she ever dreamed of. "Everything we've been through to get to this moment, it just feels so surreal," she added.
Kourtney and Travis got married in 2022. They first tied the knot in April that year in Las Vegas and then in an intimate wedding in Santa Barbara, California a month later. They exchanged "I dos" anew in a lavish ceremony in Portofino, Italy in May of the same year.
Rocky is Kourtney and Travis's first child together.
She has three kids with her ex-husband, media personality Scott Disick.
Travis, meanwhile, has two kids with his ex-wife, model Shanna Moakler, who also has a daughter with boxer Oscar De La Hoya.
