#FangirlGigs: K-pop star Taemin shows he's a total performer in the Manila leg of his 'Ephemeral Gaze' show
Almost two decades after debuting in the K-pop scene, Taemin proved that his star power remains undiminished.
TAEMates (Taemin’s fandom name) and Shawols (SHINee’s fandom name) gathered at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Nov. 24 looking like baddies in their black ensemble to match the Ephemeral Gaze theme.
Opening the last show in Asia for his first-ever solo world tour, Taemin did not slow down with his electrifying performance of Deja Vu. The crowd screamed when he did his iconic shift-lifting dance move during Guilty and Advice, before greeting the excited fans.
“Manila, sigaw! Ako si Taemin! Na-miss niyo ba ako?” the K-pop idol said, which immediately met with the crowd’s cheers.

Taemin of K-pop boy group SHINee is back in the PH for his first-ever solo concert happening tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The K-pop idol hyped up the crowd by performing his hits ‘Deja Vu,’ ‘Guilty, and ‘Advice.’

Taemin captivated the audience with a versatile performance. He serenaded them with heartfelt ballads like I'm Crying, Not Over You, Clockwork, and The Unknown Sea, accompanied by a sea of phone lights. Later, he revved up the energy with high-energy performances of G.O.A.T, The Rizzness, and Sexy in the Air, joined by dancers from the competition show Street Woman Fighter.
He also wowed Taemates and Shawols with his sexy stages such as Move, Want, and Criminal which had a groovy and intense vibe.
Treat to Filo Shawols
During his ments, Taemin can’t help but show his cute side by always smiling at the crowd—it's the complete opposite of his rebellious and bold persona whenever he performs.
He delighted Shawols by granting their SHINee song requests, he briefly sang and danced to Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, Replay, and Don’t Call Me.
The K-pop idol also did the trending “Eyyy” gesture and imitated the crowd whenever they stomped their feet when cheering for him.
Near the end of the show, Filipino fans gave their surprise fan project that celebrated his career and expressed how they have been inspired by his music over the years.
“I think your passion is off the roof tonight. It was a very, very meaningful moment for me,” Taemin told the Filipino fans through an interpreter.
Taemin expressed his gratitude to the crowd and promised to return to the Philippines soon.
“Mahal kita! I think your hearts are so warm. Thank you so much for your love. Doing this Asia tour, I feel sorry that it took a while to meet you,” he said. “We are going to meet again, right? I was very happy because of you tonight. I made a precious memory.”
Taemin is the youngest SHINee member to debut in 2008 at age 14. After 16 years of working, the K-pop idol not only managed to keep his charm and talent but also continuously strived to be better. During the show, I was amazed at how he was able to dance at his best while also serving his live vocals almost as good as the recording version.
His amazing performances were also complemented by the overall stage design, staying true to his promise to make each of his shows worth it. His unfading vibe, charm, and talent have the effect of leaving the crowd cheering for more.
