SB19 lands spots on Twitter PH's #WorldMusicDay 2022 lists
P-pop group SB19 has landed spots in Twitter Philippines’ top musical artists and hashtags for this year's #WorldMusicDay.
With hits songs like Bazinga, MAPA, What? and Go Up, the Korean-trained Pinoy boy group was able to snag the top spot in the Top Music-Related Handles in the Philippines and the Top Hashtags Around Music in the Philippines lists on Twitter from May 31 to June 1.
The results were revealed by the microblogging site on Tuesday, June 28, in celebration of World Music Day and to kick off its “#TweetYourMusic” campaign, which aims to laud artists and communities locally and in South East Asia.
Twitter head of entertainment partnerships in South East Asia, Carl Cheng, also revealed that out of 4.3 billion online conversations across the Asian region from June 2021 to May 2022, 1.4 billion tweets were generated by users from the Philippines.
He also stated that using Twitter help connect people including fans and their favorite artists: “Now more than ever, people crave connection with one another and Twitter has helped bridge the gap among fans and also between artists and fans.”
Other artists who also made it to the list are K-pop supergroup BTS and fellow HYBE group ENHYPEN, as well as phenomenal American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and Pinoy actor Donny Pangilinan.
