FIRST LOOK: Hidilyn Diaz is a stunner in her wedding gown by Francis Libiran
Hidilyn Diaz has tied the knot with Julius Naranjo today, July 26 in Baguio City—exactly a year after she took home the very first Olympic gold medal of the Philippines.
Nice Print Photography gave a first look at her wedding gown on Instagram with the caption: “Philippine pride, our first ever gold Olympian medalist gets married today.”
Designed by renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran, the off-shoulder gown features a stylish v-neck in the bodice, which has tiny beads that form a detailed pattern and exudes sophistication all the way to its bottom. Amped up with some subtle shimmer from head to toe, the gown has layers of airy swirls that made her dress train look even more striking as she walked down the wedding aisle.
Elevating her look were gold accessories and a floral headgear to match her bouquet.
The weightlifting champ married Naranjo after four years of dating. In a previous post on their pre-wedding photos, the latter wrote: “We’ve sacrificed a lot and had pushed back a lot for the country. However, now it’s different, we have bigger responsibilities and more to prove. But first, we want to celebrate US.”
“Here’s to more struggles, more training, more laughter, more success. Here’s to forever,” the groom added.
Following the wedding ceremony, Libiran shared a video clip of the bride and groom preparing for the ceremony. More details of the back of the elegant gown could be seen as Diaz entered the church and walked down the aisle.
"We are beaming with pride to be a part of this momentous event in the lives of Hidilyn and Julius. The power couple deserves only the gold standard in wedding fashion! Congratulations and best wishes, Mr. Julius Naranjo and Mrs. Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo!" Libiran wrote.
