Laureen Uy suffers from miscarriage: 'It was the worst day of my life'

Published Dec 04, 2024 2:05 pm

Laureen Uy revealed that she and her husband Miggy Cruz had lost their first child, describing it as the "worst day of her life."

The content creator expressed her grief over the loss of her unborn daughter, Miles, by sharing a lengthy, emotional letter on social media.

"From the moment we found out we were pregnant with you, Dad and I were overcome with joy. It was the best news of our lives—a love so immense and instant, it’s hard to put into words. You filled our hearts in a way we’d never known before," Laureen began.

She shared how their excitement grew as the weeks flew by and how she and her husband did everything they could to make sure their baby was safe in her womb.

"We pictured holding you in our arms, kissing your tiny hands, singing you to sleep, and exploring the world together—a family of three. We couldn’t wait for that future," Laureen wrote.

She continued, "But then, God had other plans. The day we learned your heart had stopped beating was the day ours shattered. It was the worst day of my life. I didn’t want to let you go—my body didn’t want to let you go. Even now, it feels like a nightmare I can’t wake up from."

While Laureen acknowledged that this is their reality, she lamented how "it’s a pain I never thought I’d have to bear."

She went on to share how she misses caring for her baby every single day, and how "there are no words to describe the depth of this pain."

"We’ll miss the quiet talks we had with you during tummy time, the dreams we built around you, and all the love we poured into the little life growing inside me. Losing you isn’t just about the hopes and dreams that slipped away—it’s the heartbreak of losing you, our precious baby girl," she wrote.

Despite the tragedy, Laureen and Miggy are thankful for the opportunity to be Miles' parents even for a short time.

"You’ll forever be our daughter, our little angel. Though we grieve, we also hold on to faith. We trust that you are now in the hands of our Lord, surrounded by peace and love. And we believe He has a plan for us—a future where your memory will forever remain a part of our story," she underscored.

"We love you endlessly, Miles. Forever and ever," she ended.

Laureen first announced her pregnancy in late October via a vlog on her YouTube channel. Together with her husband, she shared how it's "the best news ever" and "most incredible feeling."

At the time, their doctor said that their bundle of joy was a "super healthy growing baby."

The pair have been together since 2016. Miggy popped the question to his partner at the Joshua Tree National Park in California in May 2023.

They tied the knot in a dreamy beach wedding in Palawan in April earlier this year that was attended by their close friends and family.
