QCPD to investigate Ronaldo Valdez's death

Following the death of renowned actor Ronaldo Valdez, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Monday said it is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his sudden passing.

"As of today, QCPD is currently conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the death of Mr. James Gibbs aka Ronaldo Valdez," QCPD director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said in a statement.

"We understand the importance of this matter; hence, we are working diligently to gather all relevant facts and evidence," he added.

Maranan assured that any findings will be officially released to the public. He pleads the public to refrain from spreading speculations and rumors surrounding the actor's death.

"We also urge the public to refrain from concluding and respect the family's request to grieve in private," he added.

Valdez’s son, singer and actor Janno Gibbs, confirmed the news on his social media pages, writing, “It is with great sorrow that I confirm my father’s passing.”

He also asked the public to respect the family’s privacy.

“Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated,” Gibbs added.

Valdez was 76. He is survived by his wife Maria Fe Gibbs and children, singers Janno and Melissa Gibbs.
