Shaina Magdayao meets Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun at Busan Film Festival
Shaina Magdayao found herself rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest stars in South Korea as she attended the Busan International Film Festival to represent her film, Essential Truths of the Lake.
On her Instagram, the Filipino actress posted a video of herself walking the red carpet of the 28th edition of one of the most significant film festivals in Asia.
For the event, Shaina went all out and sparkled in a red, long-sleeved serpentine gown by Ehrran Montoya, which features a unique deep neckline and captivating texturized crystals. Her look was capped off with silver earrings from JMA Jewelry.
During her red carpet walk, she had the chance to shake hands and exchange pleasantries with Song Kang-ho, who is famous for starring in the black-comedy thriller film Parasite in 2019.
"Nice to meet you," Kang-ho greeted Shaina as he approached him, offering his hand for a friendly hand-shake. "Thanks for coming."
"Hi, nice to meet you. Thanks for having us," Shaina replied.
The actress, who was accompanied by the movie’s producer Bianca Balbuena, also had the opportunity to pose for a selfie with Squid Game actor Lee Byung-hun.
Shaina stars in Essential Truths of the Lake together with John Lloyd Cruz, Agot Isidro, Hazel Orencio, Bart Guingona, Tart Carlos, and Paul Jake Paule.
Directed and written by Lav Diaz, the drama film tells the story of Lt. Hermes Papauran as he wrestles with solving a fifteen-year-old case around an ash-laden landscape and an impenetrable lake while dealing with issues under the reign of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Prior to the Busan International Film Festival, the film was also a part of the 76th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where John Lloyd added another recognition to his acting achievements when he bagged the Boccalino d’Oro prize (Golden Jug Award) for best actor for his performance in the film.
