Sekiro is getting a boss rush mode in new update
FromSoftware’s brutally punishing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be getting a free update on October 29 which will introduce several new features including a boss rush mode, new outfits and ability to record in-game clips that can be shared with others.
According to its official website, the new update will allow players to fight previously defeated bosses in single and consecutive battles by visiting any of the game’s Sculptor’s Idols. Players can take on single boss fights in the Reflections of Strength while the Gauntlets of Strength are single-life challenges that will test the “bravest” or the “most foolish” players in the game. What that means is that if the 'One-armed Wolf' dies in the middle of a boss fight, then the player must start over again from the beginning.
Aside from the eagerly-awaited boss rush mode, Wolf will also have the chance to try out new outfits. But getting them won’t be that easy because the Tengu and Old Ashina Shinobi outfits can only be unlocked by playing the Gauntlets while the third one will be awarded by beating the game once.
Finally, FromSoftware is also adding a new feature called Remnants, which will allow players to record up to 30 seconds of gameplay. With the new messaging system, players can share their strategies and hints in overcoming tough challenges or obstacles in the game. Aside from that, Remnants can also be rated by community members, and players who will get positive feedback will have their HP recover for free.
“After a player records their Remnant – whether it is an epic takedown of an enemy or a flawless demonstration of a tricky movement technique – it can be uploaded along with a written message so that other community members can play it back,” Activision said.
"Through these Remnants, one could hope that they or others may gain the knowledge and further insight to overcome their current obstacle. For those seeking ultimate guidance on traversing treacherous areas, or seeking hidden alcoves or curious cubby-holes, these records may prove a blessing from the gods," it added.
The free update will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
