Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has debunked rumors that his Green Lantern character will be making a cameo in Zack Snyder's Justice League movie.

A few weeks before the much-awaited premiere of the Snyder Cut, rumors about Reynold’s character suddenly emerged on social media following a Vanity Fair report which revealed that the ending of Snyder’s film would feature “a hero cameo that will blow hard-core fans’ minds.”

Of course, this led to the speculation that Reynolds’ character from the 2011 DC film Green Lantern would probably be Snyder’s jaw-dropping surprise. But as it turns out, Reynold’s Hal Jordan will not be reuniting with his Justice League pals after all.

On Twitter, Reynolds shut down rumors and clarified that he will not be reprising his role in the superhero movie.

“It’s not me. But what a cool pirate flag to cameo as Hal. Maybe it’s another GL? But for me, the suit stays in the closet. I mean, computer,” Reynolds wrote on Twitter.

Prior to this, Reynolds previously expressed his intention to be part of the DC tentpole when he tweeted that he would “love to be in Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie.”

Before his stint as the wise-cracking mercenary in Disney’s Deadpool films, Reynolds starred as the iconic DC superhero in Martin Campbell’s movie. But to everyone’s dismay, the film turned out as a huge flop. And since then, Reynolds has been making fun of his own film.

As for Justice League, DC recently released the official trailer of the highly-awaited movie, which finally gave a glimpse of Jared Leto’s Joker. If you’ve missed it, you can check the trailer below:

The film will be four hours long and will feature 2.5 hours of unseen footage, as well as four to five minutes of additional photography.

Snyder’s Justice League premieres exclusively on HBO Max on March 18.
