Microsoft's rumored Xbox Series S confirmed in recent leak
There’s been a rumor that Microsoft is planning to release a cheaper version of its next generation console and it seems that the existence of a less expensive Xbox may have been finally confirmed by a recent leak on Twitter.
Earlier today, Twitter user @zakk_exe shared photos of a white Xbox Series X controller that he allegedly purchased on OfferUp for $35. The Verge, however, claims that they were able to confirm the authenticity of the controller.
The packaging of the wireless controller confirms that the long-rumored Project Lockhart will be officially called Xbox Series S. The side of the box also notes that the new controller works on the upcoming Xbox Series X, rumored Xbox Series S and Xbox One.
It’s worth mentioning, however, that Microsoft has not confirmed the existence of the Xbox Series S nor the white version of the Xbox Series X controller as of this writing. But some reports claimed that the digital version of the Xbox Series X will be unveiled later this month.
Microsoft has yet to announce the price and the exact release date of the Xbox Series X. All we know so far is that its next generation console is set to hit shelves later this year.
