'Attack on Titan' confirms part 2 of final season
Here’s a bit of good news to jump-start your week: the fourth and final season of Attack on Titan isn’t over just yet.
Contrary to its previous statement, the official Twitter account of the hugely popular anime series confirmed on Monday that the show’s final season will not be concluding with episode 75.
After the latest episode ended with a cliffhanger, MAPPA revealed that the final season of Attack on Titan will have a part 2, with the 76th episode slated to premiere in Japan “this winter.”
Prior to the confirmation, fans had been speculating that the 16-episode final season of Attack on Titan won't be enough to cover the remaining chapters of the source material.
As ScreenRant pointed out, the show has yet to adapt the remaining 23 chapters of the manga. Although there’s no word yet on how many episodes will make up part 2, there’s a chance that it could feature at least another 16 episodes, given that the first part adapted 26 episodes of the source material.
Speaking of the anime series’ origin, the final installment of Hajime Isayama’s popular manga will be released in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on April 9, with the 34th and final volume slated to hit shelves on June 9.
The final season of Attack on Titan can be streamed locally via iQIYI and iflix.
