K-drama 'Princess Hours' is confirmed to have a remake

All you OG K-drama fans are in for a nostalgic treat because Princess Hours have just been ordered for a remake!

Jaedam Media, which owns the rights to hit Korean drama Goong or Princess Hours, has announced that it has signed with Group 8, the same production house that made the hit 2006 drama.

"It’s necessary to make new works, but I think it’s also important for IP (Intellectual Property) expansion that we continuously maintain our existing works as well. The new version of Princess Hours will be a leading example of how this can proceed," said Jaedam Media’s CEO Hwang Nam Yong.

Princess Hours is based on the South Korean comic series by Park So-hee, which pictures South Korea as a constitutional monarchy in the 21st century. This drama tells the story of Crown Prince Lee Shin (Ju Ji-hoon) who was arranged to marry a high school commoner Shin Chae-kyeong (Yoon Eun-hye) as part of an agreement made between their grandparents. Though their relationship started rough, they end up developing deeper feelings for each other.

Jaedam Media have yet to announce the release date and cast members, so keep your eyes peeled!
