The emo revolution is back
Amid the clamor, fans were quick to reference the days of shimmery eyeliner and spiky hair that ushered in the festival's leading acts, My Chemical Romance and Paramore.
Though the fad of being emo had its hay day in the early 2000s, millennials can't help but bring back the good 'ol days with some memes.

Nostalgia at the core
Meanwhile, another strong reason that the festival is the sense of nostalgia of seeing one's favorite bands on the live stage once again. Though some millennials have pointed out the hilarious effects of age.

Logistical concerns
Despite the hype, concerned fans have also pointed out the fact that over 50 acts are promised, causing a possible logistical nightmare on Oct. 22.
Some have even referenced When We Were Young to the publicly scrutinized luxury festival Fyre Festival that frauded thousands of attendees and saw over $100 million in damages.

The logistics of When We Were Young fest: ??????❌
Some have also pointed out When We Were Young's organizers, Live Nation Entertainment, are also behind Travis Scott's deadly Astroworld concert, which saw 10 people dead and hundreds injured.

Stage 1: panic, excitement, and singing up for presale ticket info
Stage 2: realizing it’s a logistical nightmare, way overpriced, and being put on by the same people who did Astroworld
Stage 3: grief.
Would’ve LOVED to go to When We Were Young just for nostalgia’s sake, but thought it was insane that 60+ bands were playing over the course of one day. Now know that it’s from the same organizers as Astroworld? ???
