The cast of ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ expresses gratitude to cast mates, fans ahead of series finale
Fans are still on an emotional high after Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’s 15th episode on Saturday, Oct. 16, and the main cast’s final messages surely amped up the weekend feels.
Before we say goodbye to Chief Hong (Kim Seonho) and Ms. Dentist (Shin Minah) for the last time, let’s take a look at the farewell messages of the cast members, director Yoo Jewon, and writer Shin Haeun.
Shin Minah, who plays the beautiful dentist Yoon Hyejin, said she’s “pretty sad” that the healing K-drama is about to be over. “The time I spent as Yoon Hye Jin will remain as a very happy time to me, and I hope that the drama will remain in everyone’s memories as one that gave them a warm vacation,” said the actress as shared by Soompi.
“I have nothing but gratitude for the love you all have given to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. I had so much fun filming for the past five months that rather than it being bittersweet, I’m pretty sad,” she added.
Kim Seonho, who made fans swoon as the all-around Chief Hong, revealed that he’s “touched” with the support and his experience “felt like a dream.”
“I have many memories of the filming being therapeutic for both the actors and all the staff. I hope that the viewers found the drama therapeutic as well. Thank you once again for showing your love for Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” Seonho said.
Lee Sangyi, the actor behind kind variety show PD Ji Sunghyun, gushed about his fellow castmates and staff, expressing his gratitude. “I was grateful to spend time with warm people in the warm village of Gongjin,” he shared.
“I want to take this time to tell the director Yoo Je Won, who is responsible for letting me live as Ji Sung Hyun, writer Shin Ha Eun, and all the staff that they’ve worked hard. Also, I was so happy to work with Shin Min Ah, Kim Seon Ho, and all the actors who were a part of Gongjin,” he added.
Director Yoo Jewon admitted that it’s “bittersweet” that Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is coming to an end. Aside from the cast and staff, he also expressed his thanks to the “residents of Seokbyung village, Chungha market, sashimi restaurant owners, Pohang city officials, and the viewers.”
Meanwhile, the series’ writer Shin Haeun revealed that she wouldn’t “forget the seaside village of Gongjin or this summer for a long time.” “To the viewers, I hope that ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ became a warm source of comfort in your lives,” she added.
Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is set to release its final episode on Sunday, Oct. 17, 10 p.m., PST.
A remake of the 2004 film Mr. Hong, the series is a romance K-drama that centers around a dentist who moves from Seoul to the seaside village of Gongjin. She soon meets odd-job expert Hong Dusik who helps everyone around town. The series sheds light on the stories of people living in the village as well.
