Zack Snyder releases black and white trailer for Justice League
Acclaimed director Zack Snyder has released a new trailer for his upcoming four-hour cut of Justice League, three years after Joss Whedon's theatrical release.
Snyder posted the two-minute black-and-white trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League on Vemo and Twitter, along with the caption #UsUnited, exactly on the third anniversary of the 2017 film.
The new trailer opens with scenes of Darkseid (Ray Porter) leading the Parademons against the Greek gods, as his pre-Darkseid version, Uxas. It also teases the "Knightmare" world of Darkseid on Earth, a meaner-looking Steppenwolf in "Space Knight" armor, and evil henchman DeSaad who acts as the go-between for Darkseid and Steppenwolf.
Visually, the black-and-white trailer contains much of the same footage released during the DC FanDome event earlier this year, with the addition of a few notable flashback moments of Superman and Cyborg. The trailer also includes the same Leonard Cohen “Hallelujah” song used in the first trailer.
Just like the first film, the synopsis reads:
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes – Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) – it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
The four-hour cut of Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere in four parts and is scheduled to arrive exclusively on HBO Max streaming service in 2021.
