'Lord please,' 'Walang matutulog,' 'New Zealand' among top trends after Comelec partial election results
Twitter users didn't hold back their sentiments on the Commission on Elections' partial and unofficial results of the 2022 national elections.
Shortly after it was announced that the tandem of former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio were leading the results, the words "AYOKO NA," "Nakakaiyak"," and "New Zealand" soon went straight to the top of the social media platform's trending list.
"AYOKO NA. It's not even funny anymore. This is our country's reality. If you prefer actors and liars over qualified professionals to rule the nation, something's wrong with you. Minsan choice din and pagiging tanga beh pinanindigan nyo e. Nakakapagod. Nakakaiyak," one user tweeted.
"Please Lord, let Leni win. Ayoko na ng another 6 yrs of incompetent gov't [crying emoji]," another netizen said.
One user wrote, "Pwede bang mamatay ngayon tas mag reincarnate as baka sa new Zealand."
Other users asked, "Pano po imaging baka sa New Zealand?"
With the first night after the elections ringing in almost half of the results, users soon urged each other "walang matutulog" (no sleeping) in case results shift.
"Walang matutulog for mama leni !!! never losing hope WE WILL WIN," one Twitter user said.
"I know i made the right decision. Walang matutulog mamaya," another one wrote as caption to a photo of a hand in "L" sign.
At 9:06 pm, when the partial results were nearing the half percent mark, the words "Almost 50%" soon joined in.
As of writing, the words "Ang hirap mo mahalin" "EDSA" and "JOKE TIME BA" joins the list of Twitter trending topics as the results near the 70% mark.
