LOOK: Starbucks launches 2024 Year of the Dragon collection
Say hello to the Year of the Dragon with these cute items!
Starbucks Philippines has launched a zodiac dragon-inspired collection ahead of the start of Chinese New Year.
Known to symbolize power, luck, and success, the dragon is featured in the beverage brand’s latest merch, which includes a purse, a Starbucks card, and drinkware like mugs and tumblers, among many others.
Decked out with red, pink, and blue hues, the Guardian Dragon and its Keeper line is designed with adorable illustrations of the sleeping dragon and its keeper, which can be seen "waiting to explore and protect the world again" after 12 years. Prices range from P695 to P1,795.
There's also the Zodiac Dragon line (P745-P1,725) with dragon-inspired mugs and lifestyle items mostly in red and white.
The Bearista Bear Guardian Dragon and its Keeper also makes a great addition to the new set, available in large for P1,645 and mini for P995.
Completing the set is a 2024 Year of the Dragon Starbucks card.
Just recently, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) released Year of the Dragon postage stamps for 2024, featuring two designs in P16 and P45 denominations. They both showcase a green dragon with hints of red designed by graphic artist Ryman Dominic Albuladora.
A total of 20,000 copies of the stamps have been printed. Around 2,500 pieces of the limited collector’s item souvenir sheets and 800 copies of the first-day cover envelopes are being offered by PHLPost.
The Year of the Dragon will start on Feb. 10. The past years of the animal were 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, and 2012.
