Want to up your language skills? TESDA is offering Japanese and English courses
Looking to improve your language skills this year?
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority just opened Japanese and English courses, welcoming enrollees for English Proficiency for Customer Service Workers and Japanese Language and Culture – Level II in its National Language Skills Center.
As stated on its website, the English Proficiency for Customer Service Workers course "aims to train individuals to communicate using the basic English language and workplace conversational language." It's perfect for those who are looking to start a career in customer service, call center, or marketing. The training duration for this is 100 hours or 25 days.
The Japanese Language and Culture course, meanwhile, is "designed to help trainees to further strengthen their understanding of the Japanese culture including workplace standards, norms, and work ethics." With a training duration of 300 hours or 75 days, the offering "aims to equip trainees who intend to live and work in Japan or do administrative work in Japanese companies in the Philippines."
According to TESDA Secretary Suharto Mangudadatu, the new training programs could not just help "refine one's language skills" but also "gain a global perspective and enhance [one's] employability."
Stressing the importance of widening one's knowledge and investing in oneself, Mangudadatu said that it could open doors to various opportunities for Filipinos here and abroad.
"The ability to communicate articulately and confidently in multiple languages not only enriches your personal experiences but also allows you to connect with a diverse range of people," he continued.
